Wyandotte resident leverages artificial intelligence to select winning lottery numbers |
Wyandotte resident Tammy Carvey recently turned to artificial intelligence to select her lottery numbers, resulting in a remarkable $100,000 Powerball win.
On September 6, Carvey matched four white balls and the Powerball—11, 23, 44, 61, 62, and Powerball 17—securing a $50,000 prize. Opting for the Power Play feature doubled her winnings to $100,000.
Carvey, 45, shared her innovative approach: "I only play Powerball when the jackpot gets up there, and the jackpot was over $1 billion, so I bought a ticket. I asked ChatGPT for a set of Powerball numbers, and those are the numbers I played on my ticket."
Upon checking the results, she initially believed she had won $50,000. "It wasn’t until I logged into my Michigan Lottery account that I realized I added the Power Play to my ticket and actually won $100,000! My husband and I were in total disbelief," Carvey recounted.
She plans to use her winnings to pay off her home and save the remainder.
While Carvey's story highlights a unique use of AI in lottery number selection, the Michigan Lottery emphasizes that all drawings are random and cannot be predicted by any tool, including artificial intelligence.
Powerball tickets are available for $2 each and are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Drawings occur at 10:59 p.m. ET on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into daily life, Carvey's experience underscores the blend of technology and chance in modern-day lottery play. |
